The 1965 Corvette was the end of the rood for the famous Fuel Injected Corvette. The Fuelie had served the Corvette very well since 1957, but there was a bit of a down side. Fuelies tended to be difficult for many owners and mechanics to maintain. Many a Corvette was retrofitted with a simple dual-quad carb setup.
What's under the hood has always been of prime importance for Corvette lovers. So much so that some Corvette engines have become legends in their own right.
