In 1986 a Corvette paced the Indy 500 for the second time. While Chevrolet sold ALL 1986 Corvette convertibles as “Pace Cars,” regardless of the color ordered by the customer, it’s the yellow car that we remember the most.

Legendary test pilot, General Chuck Yeager drove the actual Corvette Pace Car for the race. Chevrolet sold a total of 7,315 “Pace Car” convertibles in ‘86 and only 732 cars were painted yellow. Also, all ‘86 Corvette convertibles had a set of pace car decals in the trunk area for dealer or customer application.

This replica of Lance Miller's personal Corvette also features real rubber tires. Lance Miller, of Carlisle Events, is the owner of this unique Callaway Corvette.

The Chip Miller Charitable Foundation has been established to promote Amyloid awareness and research in memory of Lance's Father, Chip Miller, who passed away from this disease in 2004.
